6 Easy Ways to Fund Your Education at Lakehead University
Lakehead University awarded over $11M in scholarships, bursaries and awards this year! We've got you covered!
1. Entrance Scholarships (Automatic!)
Lakehead's Entrance Scholarships are automatically awarded to applicants directly from high school. They are renewable and are based on your final year average. If you have an 80% average or higher, you will automatically receive a scholarship of at least $3,000. If you have 95% or above, you qualify for FREE TUITION for all four years! 2. Entrance Bursary
Our entrance bursary for Canadian high school applicants is based on financial need, as well as other criteria. If you live more than 700 km from the campus of your choice, you may be eligible for additional travel bursary funds.
Value: Up to $2,300
- General Bursary up to $1,500.00;
- Travel Bursary top-up of up to $800.00
- Deadline to apply is June 30th
3. Transfer Award & Bursary
Our Transfer Award and Transfer Bursaries are designed for applicants transferring from a college or another university, or for students who have been out of high school for more than two years.
Value: Up to $2,000
- Deadline to apply is June 30th
4. Presidential Scholarships
For Canadian high school applicants who have a minimum 90% average and who have demonstrated leadership within their community.
Value: $30,000 ($7,500/year for 4 years)
- Application due by April 15th - speak with your Guidance Counsellor!
5. Lakehead University Specialist High Skills Major Award
The SHSM Award is for applicants who have SHSMs in Environment, Health and Wellness, Mining, Business, Arts and Culture, or Sports
Value: $500
- Application due by April 15th
6. Campus Tour Bursary Program
We want you to come see Lakehead for yourself! If you come for a campus tour, we will reimburse your expenses if you travel more than 150km (one way)
Value: Up to $500
- Deadline to apply is three weeks after your campus tour
- Bursary is applied to your account when you become a student
