Online learning
At Royal Roads, you’ve come to the right place for online learning — we’re experts! We’ve been delivering online education since the ’90s using leading platforms and apps to give you an engaging way to learn remotely.
So, whether you want to work while you learn or simply study online, you’ll have the option to choose from programs that are fully online or programs that are blended (a mix of online and in-person classes). With both options, you can keep your job while increasing your skills and knowledge.
What will online learning look like?
Virtual learning can be intimidating when you don’t know what to expect. Here’s what your online class could look like:
Sharing and learning
Students log on to discussion forums to collaborate on projects and take part in classroom activities and conversations. Your classes will use a platform called Moodle. Moodle is how you’ll access course content and resources, submit assignments, and see your grades. You’ll also use Moodle to collaborate with classmates and connect with your instructor.
Asynchronous
Some virtual classes use pre-recorded presentations and lectures. You can watch the videos or listen to podcasts when it works best for them.
Synchronous
Other classes are synchronous. These take place live, at a set time, just like everyone was in the same space.

On-campus experience
