Launch Your Future This Fall at Sheridan

Summer's finally here, so who's thinking about fall? Well, if you're still figuring out your next steps, you might be considering college. Though the usual application season has come and gone, it's not too late to launch your future this fall at Sheridan.

Sheridan offers over 100 programs that start in September — from certificates, to diplomas, bachelor's degrees, and graduate certificates.

What do I need to do to start my program in September?

Here's how to go from summer sunshine to September student with no stress.

1. Choose your Sheridan program

First off, you should explore your options at Sheridan! The Sheridan site makes it easy to filter, sort, and compare programs, so you can find the right pick for you.

The Sheridan viewbook is another way to discover the right program. The viewbook is entirely online and tells you everything you need to know about programs, student life, and how to apply.

Want a bit more guidance? Here are six major program areas of interest for students at Sheridan:

When you apply to Sheridan, you can choose up to 3 programs of interest, so spend a bit of time browsing your options before you commit.

By the way: more than half of these programs offer a mandatory or optional co-op, internship, or work placement element, which is great for earning real-world work experience, and in some cases, even get paid to do it!

2. Create your OntarioColleges.ca account

Sheridan accepts applications through OntarioColleges.ca (known as OCAS). You'll find a direct link on every Sheridan program page. You'll need an OCAS account, which only takes a few minutes to set up.

(If you've enrolled at Sheridan in the past 5 years, you can skip OCAS entirely, and apply through myStudentCentre.)

In the OCAS system, you can apply to up to 3 programs at Sheridan, and 5 programs total. Choosing a couple of backup programs is always a good idea — you will have to pay the $150 application fee either way, so why not? Be aware that your choices must start within the same academic year, but they don't all have to be September starts.

You'll find info on start dates and availability for each program in OCAS, and you may have to request academic transcripts from high school or other prior education, which may have a $5 fee attached.

3. Prepare to start at Sheridan!

Once your application fee is paid, your info is sent to your chosen schools, where staff make admissions decisions. When Sheridan has reviewed your application, the admissions office will reach you with information on next steps.

In some cases, you may be recommended a different Sheridan program which can help you ladder up and develop the skills you need for future academic success. In most cases, though, you'll be accepted to study starting at Sheridan in September!

When you have accepted your offer of admission through OCAS, you can start looking forward to the fall! Here are some helpful links to check out so you can make the most of your Sheridan experience:
