What CapU Housing Offers You in North Vancouver

Written by Jasper Chu, CapU Domestic Student Recruitment Advisor

Thinking about living on campus while you study at Capilano University (CapU)? Our student housing in North Vancouver is designed to make your university life more convenient, connected, and comfortable—whether you're just starting your studies or continuing your journey.

Located at 2420 Dollarton Highway, our residences offer a range of single and shared accommodation starting at $1,410 monthly.

Three halls, one vibrant community

Our housings, named after the Coast Mountains near North Vancouver, are divided between Grouse, Cypress, and Seymour Hall.

  • Grouse Hall is home to our student housing and single-gender, quiet, study-intensive communities. Each of its three floors includes common spaces for studying and socializing. The first and second floors have access to laundry, common washrooms, and showers throughout the building.
  • Cypress and Seymour Hall are identical in layout, each housing 80 students. Like its counterpart in Grouse, each of its three floors has a common space for studying and socializing, common washrooms, and showers, with its first two floors providing access to laundry.

Comfortable, fully furnished rooms

Our rooms are designed for single or double occupancy, with some apartment-style units also available. Non-apartment rooms come fully furnished with:

  • Two twin-size beds with mattresses and embedded drawers
  • Two closets
  • Two desks with built-in shelving, lockable drawers, accompanying desk chairs, and cabinets

If you're in a double occupancy room, you'll have your own closet, bed, and desk. You will also complete a Roommate Agreement —supported by a Residence Advisor—to ensure a smooth shared living experience.

Students with accessibility needs or those who are beyond their first year of study receive priority for single-occupancy rooms.

These are available in two layouts:

  • The standard double-room setup for solo use (with the second bed available for guests up to 7 nights per year)
  • A single-bed room with two desks

Financial support and inclusive housing

If you're a Band- or Nation-sponsored Indigenous student, your $500 residence deposit can be deferred and paid directly by your sponsor. And if your gender identity doesn't match what's listed in our system, we'll work with you to ensure your housing is a safe, inclusive space that fits your needs.

A community that supports you

You have certain rights and responsibilities regardless of where you reside in our housing. Our Residence Handbook establishes these expectations to ensure a respectful, comfortable, and welcoming environment.

Our Capu Residence Life Team is here to support you in navigating the rights and responsibilities of being housed near campus. Our Resident Advisors run events and programs to help foster a closer community— from laser tag and spa nights to board game contests, rock climbing, and multicultural celebrations. They also offer academic advice, emotional support, and peer mentorship. Overseeing them are Residence Life Facilitators, who manage all three halls and support overall well-being and crisis response.

Meals, wi-fi, and more

Outside staffing and accommodations, you'll also have access to high-speed wireless internet and a meal plan that is part of your housing fees. With our mandatory meal plan, you'll have access to healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, saving you the need to shop, prepare, cook, and clean. You can focus more on studying, making friends, and being part of your community.

Just minutes from Capilano University's main campus, our student housing offers more than just a place to stay—it's a place to thrive. With supportive staff, fully furnished rooms, community events, essential amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere, you'll have everything you need to succeed.
