Living On Campus at UNBC: Where Your University Life Comes Together

Your university journey is more than just classes, professors and grades – especially if you are moving away from your hometown to attend your school of choice. You will also experience newfound independence as you explore a new city, meet new friends and study new subjects.

But the most important question after choosing your school?

Where will you live? On campus or off?

Living on the UNBC campus combines accommodation convenience with a strong sense of academic community and connection – something that residence life enhances in meaningful ways.

Steps from the heart of campus

UNBC’s two residence buildings, Neyoh and Keyoh – Dakelh dialect for “for the home” and “for the community” – are just a five-minute walk from the heart of campus. Housing offers fully furnished, apartment-style accommodation for up to 500 students at all stages of their academic career, from across Canada and around the world.

Designed for convenience

One of the greatest benefits of living in UNBC Housing is convenience. Students are just steps away from classrooms, the library, study spaces and campus amenities. This proximity saves time, reduces commuting stress and makes it easier to participate in academic support programmes, group projects and extracurricular activities.

Especially during the winter months in Prince George, having everything within walking distance is a major advantage. And there is no need to worry about setting up accounts for gas, electricity and more – utilities are included in your residence fees.

Meals made easy

Still figuring out your way around the kitchen? UNBC’s Meal Plan allows students to leave the planning, shopping, cooking and dishes at home.

The Agora Dining Hall follows an all-you-care-to-eat model, with both seven- and five-day Meal Plan options available.

A built-in sense of community

Living in UNBC Housing also fosters connection. Organised events, shared lounges and study areas encourage friendships and peer support. These connections often lead to study groups, networking opportunities and lifelong friendships.

Support you can count on

Students and parents alike appreciate the supportive and safe environment. With on-site staff, keycard building-and-room access, residence advisors and security services, students have access to guidance and assistance whenever needed.

You can even apply to work as a residence advisor, gaining personal and professional skills in conflict resolution, time management and event planning.

Living in UNBC Housing means fully immersing yourself in university life — academically, socially and personally. Make campus living part of your UNBC student journey!
