Start-up camp

Applications for the next start-up camp opened on April 1! Start-up camp is a short, intensive program that aims to test and study the feasibility of an entrepreneurial project — and the ability of the project holder to carry it out.

Start-up camp is a 15-day bootcamp on the Lyon campus that takes place over the course of three months. Start-up camp is face-to-face, in French, with an oral presentation and individual interview at the conclusion. The goals of start-up camp include:

  • Learning basic entrepreneurial knowledge and skills
  • Testing, challenging, adjusting, and validating the business idea
  • Building solid foundations for the development of the entrepreneurial project
  • Making direct use of these lessons on the project with successive iterations and the gradual development of a business model and strategy.

Start-up camp feedback from participants

Here's what participants in previous start-up camps had to say about their experiences:

"'You are not born an entrepreneur, you become one.' With the start-up camp program, this expression takes on its full meaning! The training judiciously combines theory and practice through high-quality speakers, all experts in their fields. Experimentation is in the spotlight, allowing us to readjust all facets of our project, until we obtain a viable business to launch and/or finance.

It's a real pleasure to develop your project as much as your entrepreneurial skills!

A big thank you to the entire emlyon incubator team who, in addition to effective organization/facilitation, knew how to listen, be available and caring."

--Amina Grine, founder, ICOSIUM

The start-up camp allowed us to understand a new universe and got us started. We worked, exchanged, doubted, then started again... but above all learned a lot; hearts up! Many thanks to the team and speakers for the organization and quality of boot camps, and your encouragement. In short, an intense but accessible program to highly recommend to challenge the implementation of your entrepreneurial project."

--Hervé Gilquin, project leader
