Making Sense of Your Admission Offer
Next steps after receiving your offer of admission.
Congratulations! Receiving an offer of admission is a major milestone, and you should feel incredibly proud of yourself. All your hard work has led to this moment, and we're thrilled to be part of the exciting journey ahead. Now that you've been accepted, it’s time to make sure you’re ready for what comes next. Here are some important steps to take after receiving your offer of admission.
1. Read the entire offer package
It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of seeing “Congratulations!” in your admission letter, but be sure to read the entire offer package carefully. There’s more than just good news — admission letters include important details such as any conditions tied to your offer. For instance, you may need to maintain a certain average, complete additional coursework, or submit English Language Proficiency (ELP) scores. Make sure you’re aware of these conditions to keep your offer valid.
2. Follow the next steps in the offer letter
Once you’ve reviewed your admission conditions, take note of the next steps listed in your letter. These can include tasks like submitting required documents, booking a course selection appointment, creating an account with the institution, or even submitting a photo for your student card. Completing these steps is essential to staying on track for a smooth transition into your upcoming year at university.
3. Accept your offer
Now that you’ve read through your admission package and completed the necessary steps, it’s time to accept your offer! To do this, simply log in to the platform where you applied and click “Accept My Offer.” If you applied to King’s, you can accept directly via the OUAC portal. Having trouble? No worries — feel free to reach out to us at [email protected], and we’ll be happy to help!
4. Apply for residence and scholarships
Once you've accepted your offer, it’s time to apply for residence. For those attending King’s, your residence application can be found in your offer package. If you want to live on campus, be sure to apply for residence before June 3, 2025, to guarantee a spot. As for scholarships, King’s offers several opportunities, and you can apply for additional awards directly on our website. Remember, you can apply for these scholarships in addition to any grade-based entrance scholarship already listed in your admission offer.
5. Visit campus
The final step? Come see us in person! We’d love to show you around campus and introduce you to our professors and other future students. Join us for our Open House on Saturday, March 22nd from 12-4pm to get a feel for life at King’s. Meet fellow students, take a tour, and enjoy some sweet treats. If you can’t make it to campus, don’t worry — check out our virtual tour, or chat with current students.
We hope this guide helps you navigate the exciting next steps ahead. We can't wait to welcome you to King’s this Fall!
