Not Sure if ULeth is Right For You? Become a Student for a Day!

Choosing the right college or university is tricky, especially if you've never attended post-secondary education in the past. Coming out of high school and into higher ed demands a lot from you as a student, no matter where you attend. Even so, you don't want to study just anywhere: you want the right institution so you can meet your goals and achieve your dreams!

That's why the University of Lethbridge has created the Student for a Day program: to give prospective students a chance to learn what life's really like on campus.

What to expect as a student for a day

You can join us on campus during the fall or spring semesters, and when you arrive on campus, you'll be paired with a student volunteer who's already pursuing your program of interest. Want to study economics? You'll be paired with an econ student. Interested in agriculture instead? No problem, you'll have an ag student partner for the day!

You'll meet your buddy in the morning of your visit, and spend the day shadowing them. This means living life like your buddy: attending lectures and/or labs, taking notes, and maybe even participating in classroom discussions!

The University of Lethbridge will even cover lunch for you and your buddy, to give you a chance to unwind, relax, and get some of your questions answered in an informal environment, from someone who's already on the pathway you're considering.

At the end of the day, you can get your buddy's contact info and stay in touch for more info and networking — perhaps you'll see them on campus again next year!

Becoming a student for a day at ULeth

The Student for a Day program runs in both the fall and spring semesters, Tuesdays through Fridays. (Be sure to check with your high school teachers or guidance counsellor so you can get time off school to attend.)

  • Fall semester availability: October and November
  • Spring semester availability: February and March

This means that now's a great time to check out the campus for fall!

If you're interested, be sure to fill out the form on the ULeth website to get on the list. A ULeth advisor will get back to you with more info and details on how you can participate in Student for a Day!

Still on the fence about whether the University of Lethbridge is right for you? Check out the student stories section of the ULeth website for exciting stories about students and alumni — where they've been, and where they're going. Take a look at their stories!
