Allow your passion to become your career by applying to the one of a kind Equine Science program offered at Olds College. As the home of the Canadian Equine Centre of Innovation (CECI), we provide instructional expertise and modern facilities with extensive technological and industrial support. Equine Science students have an intensive program that teaches a rounded equine education including hands-on learning and in-classroom theoretical learning.

Year one of the 2-year diploma program provides a general overview of Equine Science while year two provides students an opportunity to focus on specific areas of interest.

Graduates will leave the program having learned extensively in:

• Business & management procedures
• Coaching beginner riders
• Equine facility management
• Genetics, breeding and conformation
• Health care
• Horse husbandry
• Horsemanship
• Nutrition
• Riding skills (English or Western)

There are also equine related clubs that students can be involved in, such as the Hunter Jumper Club and also the Broncos Rodeo Team. Horse boarding is also available on a first come, first served basis.
