3 Steps to Take in Grade 11 to Prepare for University

Are you already dreaming about what it will be like in university? It's not too early to start doing your research and preparing. Here are some steps you can take right now, that could help you when you get to grade 12.

1. Visit Campuses

You could take a campus tour or attend an open house! Visiting university campuses can help you decide if a university is the right fit for you. You might get to ask questions and meet current students/staff.It can be helpful to start doing campus visits in grade 11 because you might want to repeat visits or see different schools in grade 12.

2. Learn about Admission Requirements

Maybe you're not sure what you want to study at university yet, and that's okay! But it's never too early to start looking at required courses for programs. If you're not sure what you want to take, it's a good idea to keep as many doors open as possible. That may mean keeping up with some academic science or math courses in grade 11 so you can take them in grade 12.

3. Try a University Course

Did you know you might be able to complete a university course while you're in high school? Western University offers the WISE program. High-achieving students are selected through an application process and have the opportunity to complete a university course tuition free at Western University.
