Do you already have an idea of what you are going to be studying at university? If you're still wading through all the options and having trouble deciding, you're not alone. Think about this: What is your favourite subject in school? When you study something you are interested in, chances are your marks will reflect it and you’ll be more successful (and happier) in the long run.

The program you study at university is called your “major”. A “major” is a concentration of courses that will focus and shape your academic experience. About 1/3 to 3/4 of your total coursework will be in your major program of study (depending on which major you choose).

The other piece of the puzzle that might make choosing a major program of study tricky is that university programs don't always sound like the subjects you take in high school or college. Maybe there's a program out there you'd love to take, but you've never heard of it before.Have a look at the list of our faculties below. If one catches your interest, click the link to find out more and to see what related program majors Lakehead offers.
