With the new year approaching fast, now is a great time to set goals for 2019 and create a plan to achieve them! While it might seem like you still have plenty of time before you need to apply to post-secondary institutions, it’s important to have a plan and apply early. To help ensure the application process is as pain-free as possible, we’ve put together some tips and tricks to help you along the way.

Do some research
Many schools may offer courses or programs you’re interested in, but, how do you choose? It’s important to consider things like program length, admission requirements, opportunities for hands-on learning like work experience and practicums, and the on-campus environment. Make time to look through the university’s website, connect on social media, and visit the campus in-person if you can. The more information you have ahead of time, the easier it will be when making decisions.

Ask questions
Need more information? Make time to talk directly with someone at the university. Our team of pros in the Future Students’ Office are ready, willing, and able to answer your questions and even assist you with your application. Connect with us online, or drop-in and visit us on-campus at your convenience during our scheduled.

Don’t let deadlines sneak up on you
Stay organized. Whether you prefer to put pen to paper, keep track of everything online, or use a smartphone app, be sure to highlight important dates and deadlines, and set reminders for yourself to avoid last-minute stress.

Follow up
Don’t forget to check your email regularly for important information and updates. Once you apply to KPU, you’ll receive an email with your student number and directions to login to your new KPU student email. Through this online system, you’ll be able to see your application status, review you application checklist, and more on your journey to becoming a student. And we can’t wait to welcome you!
