Three Steps to Apply to York
Check out York’s application overview and tools to keep your application organized!
If you plan to start university next fall, chances are that you’ve been thinking about your applications. Applying to university is exciting, but it can also be confusing. At York University, we’re happy to help guide you through the admissions process. Check out our three steps for a successful application submission to York:
Step 1: Research your program
Before applying, research your chosen York program. Different programs may have specific application requirements, so be sure to find out about deadlines, transcripts, supplementary application forms, recommendation letters and other requirements by reviewing the Admissions Requirements tab on your York program page.
Step 2: Start your application
If you’re an Ontario high-school student, use the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) website to submit your application to York. Other undergraduate applicants, including international students, college and university transfer students and/or mature students can apply on OUAC or directly through the York Undergraduate Application.
Step 3: Submit your application by the deadline
The key to submitting successful applications is to keep track of your deadlines! The deadline for Ontario high-school students to submit a York application via OUAC is January 17, 2018. Once you’ve submitted your application, you‘ll receive a confirmation email containing your York reference number which is used to track your application’s progress and to submit supporting documents on MyFile.
Familiarize yourself with York’s “Deadlines for Undergraduate Study” website, as some programs may have early application deadlines. If your program requires supplementary evaluation, apply early to ensure that your application receives consideration before the program is full.
