University is one of the largest investments you’ll ever make, and thankfully, it’s not all studying and writing (although some days it will feel that way). Those four years (or maybe five or six) can be some of the most exciting, terrifying and thrilling times of your life. But it can also be stressful when your bank account starts shriveling. Books and tuition can add up fast, and so do those curveballs that life just tossed your way.

Whether you’re new to the realm of post-secondary, or you’re a mastered pro, the Office of Student Awards & Financial Support at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC can help you with everything from basic budgeting to scholarship essays, student loan applications and beyond.

If you’re a soon-to-be high school graduate, the one date you should remember is March 1st. That is the deadline for some of TRU’s largest scholarships, our Entrance Awards, and there is something for everyone. Ranging from $500 to $30,000, these awards recognize academic excellence, community service, leadership and outstanding ambassadorship.

There are even more awards to be given out once you’ve successfully completed at least one semester at TRU, thanks to the generosity of thousands of individuals, alumni, businesses and community organizations. Ongoing Awards at TRU total over a million dollars and by filling out the one application form, you can apply to over 500 awards.
