Live the fun with Lakeland’s campus life & clubs
College should be more than exams and assignments. At Lakeland College, it is! With many diverse student clubs and campus life activities, idle hands and dull moments are hard to find.
Campus life at Lakeland College is all about making new friendships and sharing great experiences. Students who take part in student clubs and campus life activities explore talents, develop new skills, and above all, have a great time.
Keen about drama, sports, the environment, rodeo, outdoor recreation, climbing, fellowship? There’s a place for everyone at Lakeland – whether living on or off campus.
Lakeland College’s small campuses and close-knit atmosphere mean more opportunities for students to become leaders and to help with special activities such as charity fundraisers, social issue awareness campaigns, student newspapers and yearbooks, and fun recreation events. As well, with the college’s competitive intercollegiate athletics program, there are lots of opportunities to rally campus spirit and show support for teams.
For students, campus life and club activities often lead to unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences. For example during Reading Week, students in the Ag Tour club travelled to south Texas where they toured the famed King’s Ranch in Kingsville, a sod farm in Gonzales, Texas A & M University, an ice cream factory in Brenham, a crawfish and rice farm in Broussard, a 100-year-old brewery and a winery. They even toured NASA’s Space Centre at Houston and a number of other national and state monuments. It was a fabulous experience for Lakeland students who organized and fundraised for the trip themselves. It was an experience they’ll never forget!
For Canadian and international students alike, student clubs and campus life activities are great ways to make life-long friends and live the college experience to the fullest.
