Profile

Welcome to King George International College! Located on Canada's stunning west coast, KGIC provides its students with the English experience of a lifetime with a choice of studying either in the heart of exciting downtown Vancouver or in the quieter surroundings of nearby Surrey. The school's diverse and hard working student body is the reason for its success, along with a dedicated and qualified staff of instructors, teaching assistants, counsellors, and administrators. With over 24 hours of intensive English instruction each week, students are able to maximize their capacity for English language acquisition in all skill areas such as grammar/composition/writing, listening comprehension, conversation, and pronunciation. Students also benefit from a broad range of elective class options including TOEFL, TOEIC, Idiom and Slang, Listening Comprehension, Vocabulary Enhancement, and Pronunciation/Accent Reduction. Each month, KGIC recognizes and awards those students who consistently demonstrate a strong commitment to learning English offering scholarships to learners of all levels. All of this takes place each day in a very modern, state of the art learning facility, fully equipped with computer terminals, a ping pong area with a piano and an air hockey table, as well as vending machines for hungry students! KGIC provides teaching assistants (TA's) who help both the instructors and the students in classes. TA's are also available to students between classes, at lunchtime, and after school for one on one tutorials. KGIC is well prepared and looking forward to meeting the challenges of this new millennium.

In addition to learning English, KGIC provides students with additional skills and training to better qualify them for a variety of careers. KGIC has designed a Business Internship diploma program to allow students to obtain inside knowledge of North America's business environment. This program not only allows to students to study the world of corporate North America, but actually participate in it through a four week internship. To meet the needs of students wishing to continue their education beyond the ESL sphere, KGIC has developed an intensive TOEFL program that will bring student's level of English to a level appropriate for admission to a college or university in Canada or the United States. For those who are interested in entering the field of business, a high TOEIC score is a definite asset, and to some a necessity, that's why KGIC has created an Intensive TOEIC program, which includes an official TOEIC test right here on KGIC's premises. Finally, KGIC has designed a course for students and teachers interested in ESL training for young learners. These teaching assistants provide students with an added exposure to English while also providing more one on one correction for students.
