Vanier College is an English CÉGEP (Collège d'enseignement général et professionnel or College of General and Vocational Education). Founded in 1970, it is the third largest English language CÉGEP in Quebec. The Student Services Office provides housing information for students who are seeking rooms, apartments, or shared accommodations in the St. Laurent area. Details such as rent, location, furnishing, and facilities are included in each notice. Rental costs for furnished rooms in private homes range from $300.00 to $425.00 per month, and apartments range from $450.00 to over $850.00 per month depending on the number of bedrooms, facilities, etc. Remember that the monthly rent payment will not be your only cost. Heating, cable, telephone, transportation, parking, and food will be added expenses. Many students share apartments in order to reduce these costs. The best time to look for accommodation is from the end of July onward and the busiest period being the middle 2 weeks of August. It is essential that your search be undertaken in person. Be prepared to invest the time and attention required to find accommodations that are to your satisfaction.
The Student Employment Centre, affiliated with Student Services, is located in C202. Vanier students will find the Career/Documentation Library and equipment that will enable them to do their job hunting/searching. We also offer group workshops or individual consultations on:

The International Baccalaureate Program leading to the IB Diploma offers a unique opportunity to develop a strong academic base through a standard curriculum leading to international examinations. To further explore a subject of their choice, all diploma candidates are required to undertake original research and write an extended essay under the supervision of a teacher they select. Moreover, the Creativity, Action, Service component of the program, known by its acronym CAS, emphasizes the importance of life outside the world of school by requiring candidates to do 150 hours of community service, creative work or athletic activities.
Staffed with community health nurses, the Health Resource Centre will help you develop and maintain your potential for good health. Whether you're sick, injured, or in top shape, you'll always be welcomed as a person, not a "patient.”
