Lakehead awards automatic entrance scholarships beginning at 80%. Entrance Scholarship averages for high school students entering undergraduate programs are calculated based on the highest six Grade 12 U or M academic marks (or equivalent) available at the time of the Scholarship Offer. Scholarship Offers will be extended in two rounds. Round One will take place in May 2019, and Round Two will take place in July 2019. Qualified students will be awarded the best scholarship from either of the two rounds. Students awarded a renewable Academic Entrance Scholarship must maintain a minimum 80% (or 90% average for the Free Tuition Scholarship) in each academic year, according to the terms found in the Scholarship Offer. A normal full course load is required in each year of study. Students who take less than a 100% course load but 80% or more of their course load are eligible to receive a pro-rated scholarship value.
Lakehead paid $9.7 million in scholarships, awards, bursaries this year. In addition to automatically-awarded entrance scholarships for Canadian high school students, Lakehead offers a number of other scholarships, bursaries and awards, including transfer student awards.
