Requirements for Canadian Students

Royal Roads University seeks exceptional individuals committed to a high level of achievement in our programs. Admission to a degree program is based on criteria that ensure the highest standards of academic quality and student achievement. These include formal post-secondary education, life and/or work experience, and personal attributes. All applications to Royal Roads are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Requirements for International Students

Undergraduate applicants: Completion of High School in your home country, minimum C+ average (75%), 2.5 Grade Point Average.  
Master's-level applicants: 4-year undergraduate degree from a recognized university or acceptable alternative, average grade of 'B' (equivalent) or higher in undergraduate study, and at least two years of relevant work experience. GMAT/GRE scores are not required. Note: No official TOEFL or IELTS score is required for ISC programs. Entry to undergraduate and graduate pathways from the equivalent of IELTS 3.0, or TOEFL 400 PBT/32 iBT. 

Procedure for Canadian Students

With our continuous intake cycle, we accept applications for admission throughout the year. Students can apply directly through our web site. There is a $100.00 application fee. At the undergraduate level, students are admitted into third year through block credit transfer. Students are primarily community college graduates, university transfer students and early to mid-career persons with several years of work experience. Graduate students typically have an undergraduate degree and significant related work experience.

Procedure for International Students

There is no deadline and no application fee for ISC applications - we offer rolling admissions. However, we recommend you apply at least 10 weeks before your program starts, because the visa application process can delay your university admission. Get the ISC application form: Return you completed form along with your supporting documents, including school transcripts, passport, graduation certificate, bank statement, letters of recommendation and student essay. We will send a formal offer of a place within 2 working days for undergraduate applicants.

Notes:Undergraduate fast-track Year 3 and 4 programs operate on a quarterly basis, which means that a student can complete four quarters (the equivalent of two full years) in one calendar year. Year 1 and 2 bachelor's degree programs (taught by the International Study Centre) start in September and January each year, and are completed in 2 academic years. Master of Arts in Leadership and Training program is structured around two five-week on-campus residencies, followed by use of distance technologies. Degree completion is in two years. All remaining master degree programs are structured around three, three-week on-campus residencies, followed by distance technologies and an organizational consulting project. Degree completion is in two years.
