This program is designed to provide a strong education in the areas of mathematics, finance, economics and actuarial science. Graduates of our program can apply mathematical and statistical techniques to analyze financial products and manage financial risk.This program can also be taken as part of a BSc with Specialization degree.
The Bachelor of Science Honors degree provides excellent training in one specific subject. As an Honors student, you will focus on one main field of study and must maintain a higher standard of academic achievement than students in a General or Specialization program. This is the best program if you plan to pursue a higher degree or a research-based or academic career. |
Additional Admission Requirements: | This program does not allow admission directly from high school. Preprofessional Study Time: 1 year. For 2nd year entry: at least ★24 (★ = units of course weight) required in the preceding Fall/Winter: MATH 114, 115, 125 (★9), STAT 151 (★3), CMPUT 101 or CMPUT 174 and 175, ECON 101, 102 (★6), ★6 of junior English or ★3 junior ENGL and ★3 junior WRS. For 3rd year entry: ★60 required: all required courses indicated above, ECON 281 (★3), MATH 214, 215, 225, 253 (★12), STAT 265 (★3), STAT 266 (★3), ★9 in options.
Completion of a minimum of ★24 in each preceding Fall/Winter with a GPA of at least 3.0, plus a minimum GPA of 3.0 on the required courses. |
