Description:

Western University offers the only undergraduate Major in Museum and Curatorial Studies in Canada. With this unique opportunity, you'll prepare and train for careers in the cultural sector with equal emphasis placed on “front of house” (curation) and “behind the scenes” (collections management, arts administration). You'll be able to combine practical experience such as internships and skill building with seminars and lectures dedicated to understanding museums as complex social and cultural institutions. Your classes taught by our award-winning faculty will be complemented by field trips to museums, galleries, and heritage sites, and by major curatorial projects led by students.

You can complete this program as a 4-year Honours Bachelor degree with a Double Major or a 3-year Bachelor degree. Registration in the honours degree usually begins in the second year, but admission may be gained in the third or fourth year provided you meet requirements.

Unique in Canada, the SASAH Program offers an interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and community-engaged educational experience.
