Description:

The Social Science Commerce Major in International Business profile is designed to prepare you for university studies. This major offers the same courses as the Commerce profile but the focus of each course is international and is ideal for students interested in the effects of globalization and the role of business in globalization. There is the possibility of a trip to St Petersburg, Russia or Florence, Italy.

The program is not for students who want to work in business immediately after Cegep. Instead it offers a theoretical view of business geared to help you become familiar with the nature of Commerce programs at leading universities and their requirements for admission. The program includes compulsory mathematics courses and stresses how important it is for you to obtain strong grades in Calculus 1 and 2 and Linear Algebra, as well as strong academic standings in all your courses in order to prepare you for university studies. After successful completion of this profile, students receive a Diploma of College Studies (DCS) in Social Sciences as well as a Vanier College certificate attesting to the major.
