Cooperative education in engineering incorporates a paid, supervised work experience component into the engineering degree program. Co-op students gain valuable experience through full-time employment during work terms sequenced with academic terms. The cooperative degree requires five years—in addition to eight, four-month terms of full-time study, students complete five, four-month work terms. These consist of full-time, paid employment in a position related to their field of study.

| Additional Admission Requirements: | This program does not allow admission directly from high school. Preprofessional Study Time: 1 year. All students in the Qualifying Year in the Faculty of Engineering follow a common curriculum in their first year. At the end of the first year, students choose among the various specialized Engineering programs offered and between the traditional and cooperative education streams.
Students with transferable post-secondary coursework taken outside of the Faculty of Engineering are considered for admission based on GPA and relevant transfer credit. |
