Description:Kinesiology challenges you to understand human movement in all its complexities and applications and appreciate how we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139). You will learn about movement from the perspectives of physiology, anatomy, psychology, sociology, biomechanics, lifestyle and behavior amongst others. Kinesiology is a rapidly growing field of sport science and Redeemer’s Kinesiology Program will challenge you to understand human movement in the exciting fields of health, clinical science and practice, disease prevention, lifestyle, and sport. You will have the opportunity to learn in our fully-equipped metabolic, neuromuscular, biomechanical, developmental and psychomotor labs, preparing you for College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (CKO) certification and the hands on experience required for “job readiness” upon graduation. You will also work with organizations that provide help to those with special needs through motor rehabilitation support and fitness leadership. Through classes, labs, and experiential learning we celebrate and respect our responsibilities to care for God’s gift of creation.

Our uniqueness at Redeemer is our focus on understanding knowledge from a Christian world view. Outside the classroom there are many opportunities for bible studies and individual mentorship to encourage and foster students’ faith formation”. Specific to the classroom, students will have the opportunity to explore their chosen vocation with respect to scripture and their calling as disciples of Christ.

Applicants from Ontario are required to have successfully completed Grade 12 U English, Grade 12 U Biology, Grade 12 U Chemistry, and three additional Grade 12 U or M level courses. Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 570] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]

Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English through one of the following: TOEFL test score of 570, IELTS test score of 6.5, or CAEL test score of 70. Students who have studied for the last three years in a school where English is the primary spoken/written language may be exempt from language requirements.
