Description:

Individuals in an Accounting and Payroll department are typically responsible for preparing and processing bills, invoices, accounts payable and receivables, budgets and other financial records. This program provides students with hands-on training in bookkeeping, database management, and accounting software used by Canadian employers. Areas of study include accounting principles and practice, computerized accounting, managerial accounting, payroll administration, spreadsheets and data management.

Note: this program is ten months long and includes a four week-long internship.

Prerequisites:

    A person who has a Secondary V degree or a D.E.P., or has received instruction deemed acceptable by the College and who meets one of the following requirements may be admitted to a program leading to an A.E.C.:
    - The person's studies have been interrupted for at least two consecutive terms or one school year.
    - The person is covered by an agreement entered into by the College and an employer or by a government program.
    - The person has completed at least one year of post-secondary studies spread over a period of one year or more.
