Description:

Students of Computer Science and Mathematics are inquisitive, logical, and creative problem-solvers. Ideally, they are comfortable with math and sciences, perseverant, and work well alone and/or in teams. Vanier College is the only English language Cegep on the Island of Montreal to offer this pre-university science program ideally suited to students who intend to pursue university studies in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or any computer science related program, as well as most engineering programs. The curriculum includes four mathematics courses with a program-specific fourth semester course in Discrete Mathematics. There are four programming courses over the length of the program, which offer students opportunities for hands-on programming experience. Students even have access to extra-curricular opportunities
such as Robotics. This program is an exciting opportunity for any high school student who is fascinated by computers but also wants the advantages of being in a pre-university Science program. Admission to the College is on the basis of the Quebec Secondary School Diploma (Diplôme d’études secondaires); or the Quebec Diploma of Vocational Education (Diplôme d’études professionnelles) with Secondary 5 first and second languages as well as Secondary 4 Mathematics; or equivalent scholarity completed outside the province.

Math TS 564-506 or SN 565-506; Math 536; Math 201-015-50; Math TS 5160, 5161 & 5163 (equivalent to TS 506) or SN 5170, 5171 & 5173 (equivalent to SN 506), or MTH 5101 to 5111 inclusive. Physics 553-504; Physics 534; Physics 203-001-50; PHS 5061 & 5062 or PHS 5041, 5042 & 5043. Chemistry 551-504; Chemistry 534; Chemistry 202-001-50; CHE 5061 & 5062 or CHE 5041, 5042 & 5043.
