Description:

The Electrical Engineering program at the University of Alberta prepares you for this rapidly evolving field by giving you a sound foundation of knowledge which you will continue to build on throughout your degree. You will gain hands-on experience working on electrical devices and systems that transmit, distribute, store, control and use electromagnetic energy or electrically coded information. As part of this program, you can choose to take a Nanoengineering Option.

The Faculty of Engineering is widely recognized as one of the top Engineering schools in Canada, with globally renowned professors, state-of-the-art labs and teaching spaces, and highly specialized facilities and areas of research. Throughout your degree, you’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, participate in research, and contribute to team projects both inside and out of the classroom.

This program does not allow admission directly from high school. Preprofessional Study Time: 1 year. All students in the Qualifying Year in the Faculty of Engineering follow a common curriculum in their first year. At the end of the first year, students choose among the various specialized Engineering programs offered and between the traditional and cooperative education streams.
