Description:

Respiratory and Anaesthesia therapists evaluate, treat, and care for patients of all ages who are suffering from breathing disorders related to disease or surgical intervention. If you want to make a positive contribution to society and are looking for a challenging, rewarding and exciting profession in health care, consider this program. You will learn excellent communication and analytic skills while also learning to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, during which you will develop the ability to effectively deal with stress. Additionally, you will also become adept in handling all types of life support and respiratory equipment.

Prerequisites:

Admission to the College is on the basis of the Quebec Secondary School Diploma (Diplôme d’études secondaires); or the Quebec Diploma of Vocational Education (Diplôme d’études professionnelles) with Secondary 5 first and second languages as well as Secondary 4 Mathematics; or equivalent scholarity completed outside the province.

Math TS/SN 406; Cegep Math 201-016-50; Adult Education Math TS 4161, 4162 & 4163 (equivalent to TS 406), or SN 4171, 4172 & 4173 (equivalent to SN 406), or MTH 4101-4111 (inclusive). Chemistry: Chemistry 504; Cegep Chemistry 202-001-50; Adult education CHE 5061 & 5062 or CHE 5041, 5042 & 5043 with labs.
Additional Admission Requirements:
    A letter of intent must be submitted with the application. Candidates will be invited to an interview if the appropriate application requirements are met. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required and is tested as part of the admissions process. To practice in Québec, students need to be proficient in French in order to meet the licensing requirements of the Ordre des inhalothérapeutes du Québec.
