Description:

French gives students an added dimension to their learning experience: knowledge of a second language provides students with a clearer understanding of their own language, an appreciation for different cultures, and, in some cases, enhanced job opportunities.

French 9
Prerequisite: Grade eight French students continue the Entre Amis course used in grades seven and eight. A materials fee is charged for this course. Evaluation will be both oral and written.

French 10
Prerequisite: French 9
Students continue with text Entre Amis III. A materials fee is charged for this course. Evaluation will be both oral and written.

French 20
Prerequisite: French 10
Students use En Direct and are required to purchase a workbook. Evaluation will be both oral and written.

French 30
Prerequisite: French 20
Students continue with the text En Direct l and the same workbook as in grade eleven. No additional workbook is required for students who have retained the book from grade eleven.
