Introduction to Computer Applications and Networking Two (ICAN10)
Prerequisite: ICAN9
The class makes extensive use of the Internet, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, multimedia, graphics and web publishing in an integrated approach to personal computer use. Several major projects will make up the bulk of the coursework. Completion of this class will provide students with an extremely rich foundation in data processing and web publishing. Students must have ICAN9 to enrol in this class.
Note: This class is comparable to InfoPro10 for credit purposes. It is recommended that these students enrol in Information Processing 30.

Information Processing 10
This course provides the basic computer skills to process many types of information efficiently. Assignments and projects use productivity tools (word processors, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software) to enter, edit, manipulate, and share information. Students participate in a range of online communication activities, becoming efficient and critical uses of Internet resources. Features and creation of web pages are introduced.

Information Processing 20
Prerequisite: InfoPro10
This class continues on with topics covered in Information Processing 10. Advanced features of word processing, spreadsheets and charts, databases and report generation are covered. Students are expected to create a set of web pages including links, graphics, and friendly navigation.

Information Processing 30
Prerequisite: InfoPro20 or ICAN10

The students must be aware of the need to adapt to changes in technology and application software.

Computer Science 20
Prerequisite: A grade ten technology class
This course, offered at the grade eleven level, introduces the student to the Visual Basic Programming Language. Forms, objects, code, graphics, and algorithms are used to solve smaller problems and larger projects. Techniques and methods of problem solving are incorporated into the class.

Computer Science 30
Prerequisite: Computer Science 20
This course introduces the student to the C++ Programming Language. Objects, classes, code, graphics, and algorithms are used to develop concepts of programming languages and of machine architecture.

Computer Science 30: Advanced Placement
Prerequisite: Computer Science 30 and Permission
Selected students have the opportunity to continue on with their study of C++. A wider range of topics is covered in this course, which may qualify students to receive a credit at the university or college level. Exams are written in May of each year.
