Gabriel Dumont Institute And The Lac La Ronge Indian Band are partnering to deliver a 4-year fully accredited NORTHERN INDIGENOUS TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM (NITEP) Bachelor of Education Degree

GDI has been working with the Province’s Universities for the past 40 years to train over 1200 Indigenous teachers whose credentials are recognized across Canada. To address the Teacher shortage in Northern Saskatchewan, GDI and the Lac La Ronge Indian Band are proud to announce they are partnering to deliver a Northern Indigenous Teacher Education Program.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
  •  Grade12 Mathematics  or  Grade12 Science 
  •  Grade12 International Languages  or  Grade12 Humanities  or  Grade12 Social Science 
Applicants must have: English 12, one approved grade 12 math or science, one approved grade 12 language, social science or fine arts course, and one additional approved grade 12 courses.
Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 83] or CanTEST [min. 4.5] or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery [min. 95] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 60]
