The University of Maine at Presque Isle is a publicly supported, undergraduate institution located in the wide-open spaces of northern Maine. Situated between Quebec and New Brunswick, the University is ideally located to provide a broad educational opportunity for its students, especially those from eastern Canada. Presque Isle’s population is around 11,000.

UMPI is small school with a population of approximately 1,600 students and a small class size; average class 20:1. And with classes no larger than 45, this enables the University of Maine at Presque Isle to provide a personal one on one relationship between the student and their professors.

All degrees are 4 year Bachelor's.
- Education: 4 years start to finished and certification is recognized in the US and Canada. Student teaching can be done back home or in the US.

Cost above is for the year and includes board as well. Students are guaranteed housing. Each room comes with a free phone/room, cable hook-up, and internet/computer access for each student. The campus is also wireless.

First time students are allowed to have cars on campus. Tutoring is available free to all our students.

We offer a Career Development Office to all our students.

Sports

Our varsity athletics are NCAA Division III.

Activities

We offer an outdoor adventure activities open to all our students. We do white water rafting, hiking, rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, snowshoeing, x/c skiing, and camping (winter, spring, and summer).

Clubs

Hockey is an intercollegiate/gentleman's league. Co-ed.

We offer 2 types of exchange programs study abroad and a national student exchange program.
