Located in beautiful Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, St. Thomas More College(STM) is a Catholic undergraduate liberal arts college that is federated with the University of Saskatchewan. Any U of S student can select from over 230 Arts and Science courses offered through STM.

Areas of Expertise

While STM students may choose any major offered by the College of Arts and Sciences at the U of S, our teaching focus is in Humanities (English, history, languages and linguistics, philosophy, religious studies) and Social Sciences (anthropology, archaeology, economics, political studies, psychology, sociology).

Off Campus Housing

STM students are not required to live in residence. They are welcome to seek private accommodations in Saskatoon.

Incoming Students

St. Thomas More College has many excellent facilities such as a computer lab, library, student lounge, chapel, auditorium, and cafeteria. All first-year St. Thomas More College students are strongly encouraged to attend the annual U of S orientation program. Students are also encouraged to take part in University Life 101, a transitional program.

Sports

All STM students are U of S students and therefore can take part in Campus Rec athletics. STM ogranizes teams based on student interest. If you want to join an STM campus rec team email info@stmcollege.ca and tell us which sports you are interested in.

Activities

St. Thomas More College is a centre of student life on the U of S campus. The college supports a number of groups and activities that help to provide extra-curricular opportunities for students.

Clubs

STM houses several student organizations such as Newman Players (drama), STM/Newman Choir, STMSU, Newman Centre, In Medias Res, and K of C. STM students may also join any of the U of S student clubs.

Information Technology

An STM/Arts and Science Computer Lab is available in the Shannon Library for student and faculty use. It provides access to a wide variety of software, including (but not limited to): Microsoft Office; Word Perfect Office; class software in the sciences, math, social sciences, computer sciences, and languages; ArcView GIS; Graphics such as Paint, CorelDRAW, and Photoshop; Internet and email applications. A Laser printer and a scanner are also available. Users require an Arts & Science computer lab account, which includes unlimited computer use. 802.11B and G wireless internet are also available to patrons of the library. A wireless enabled laptop is required.

Cultural

Several different cultural organizations are open to students. If you are a Catholic male over the age of 18, then consider joining the Knights of Columbus. The STM council of Knights is made up of students, faculty and staff at the U of S. We are dedicated to providing Catholic community for our members as well as being active volunteers for a number of projects.

Campus Tour

Visit the University of Saskatchewan and St. Thomas More College in a free guided tour of campus. A staff member from STM will lead your through STM as well as parts of the main campus at the U of S and answer questions you have about coming to the U of S and STM. Other

The STM Coral Group offers students, staff and faculty a chance to participate in a performance choir. The group performs a variety of styles of music. Send an email to info@stmcollege.ca to join this group.
