Get an internationally renowned Scottish education in a stunning location at UHI. Thanks to our smaller class sizes, we hold personalised student support at the heart of everything we do.
UHI was rated #4 in Scotland for undergraduate student satisfaction in the 2025 National Student Survey, and #1 in Scotland for postgraduate student satisfaction in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey!
As a multi-campus university, our courses are designed to make the most of the local industries and natural environment of each location, which means the subject you choose will define where you live and learn. The natural environment is central to life in the Highlands and Islands so nature-based sciences, specialist outdoor sports, and archaeology are some of our top programmes.
Being a student isn't only about studying! With its mix of tranquil and exhilarating activities in both rural and city communities, the Highlands and Islands, Moray and Perthshire offer our students a unique lifestyle. Enjoy excellent access to beaches, mountains, paddleboarding, climbing, mountain biking and camping spots.
International field trips are also built into many of our courses, giving students the opportunity to gain relevant experience in a range of settings relevant to their degrees and future careers. For example, BSc (Hons) Environmental Science and BSc (Hons) Geography students undertook fieldwork projects in Iceland, while our BSc (Hons) Marine Science students can choose to study their third year in the Arctic Circle or South Carolina, USA.
