Expect a warm welcome when you arrive: our school year begins with a week of orientation activities to help you settle in and set the tone for life on campus. Orientation is a balanced mix of helpful, factual information, a chance to get acquainted with the campus and other students, and many social activities taking you around campus, the city of Toronto, and surrounding areas.
The Career and Skills Development Centre, located in York Hall A118, focuses on career exploration, skills development and experiential education. You can get personalized academic and career help by booking an appointment via Moodle or by attending a workshop.
Our Glendon Athletic Club (GAC) is our top-rate athletic centre and formerly the home practice gym of the Toronto Raptors NBA team. The centre includes a full-size indoor swimming pool and gymnasium, a fully equipped cardiovascular and weight room, an indoor golf driving range, international squash courts, outdoor tennis and pickle ball courts, a soccer field and a baseball diamond. There is also a full range of instructional, group exercise, and aquatics programs to choose from.
As a Glendon student, you have access to all of York University's sports facilities, recreational programs, and free admission to the York Lions football team's regular season home games. You can participate in York varsity sports and compete in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) and U Sports in more than a dozen sports, including basketball, ice and field hockey, swimming, and track and field. There are also many fitness and sports classes to choose from, as well as intramural sports clubs, tournaments, and special events on the Keele Campus.
Glendon's student-run clubs promote many academic, cultural, and linguistic themes. Do you have an idea for starting a new one? You have the opportunity to get it off the ground! Watch for annual social traditions like the Snowball Formal and the Winter Carnival too.

You have access to workstations in several computer labs staffed with technical support and a full range of state-of-the-art equipment. High-speed Internet access and lab software are available in all residence rooms as well.
While there's a distinct difference between the Liberal Arts (think social sciences and humanities) and the Fine Arts (think music, painting, acting), Glendon nonetheless has a lively and active arts scene.
Whether you're interested in showcasing your talents at student-run Lunik Co-op Café's Café Chantant (which means 'Coffee House'), getting your inner music nerd on with the Glendon Musical Ensemble, or flexing your acting muscles with Lionheart Productions, our student-run theatre production company, Glendon's art scene is far from lacking.
The Glendon Supports and Services has a comprehensive support program for students with disabilities which includes individual consultations with a Accessibility Counsellor, a peer tutoring program for help with learning strategies, and adaptive technology.
Through international exchange programs, you can spend a year studying in a university abroad. Choose from universities in 35 countries worldwide including La Sorbonne (Paris, France), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain), Université libre de Bruxelles (Brussels, Belgium), Flinders University (Adelaide, Australia), and University of Hong Kong (China).
