Clarkson College was founded in 1888, by Bishop Robert H. Clarkson, in order to establish a hospital in Nebraska.
The school is located in Omaha, Nebraska and is approximately 753 kilometres west of Chicago, Illinois. It is also about 0.6 kilometres from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where students can complete their residency.

Clarkson College has a Success Center, which allows students to take advantage of assessment testing, counselling, academic skills development, tutoring, educational workshops, and career planning and placement. Clarkson College continues to serve students after graduation by linking them to opportunities that may fit their individual needs.
There is a fitness room located in the Student Center.
