The Toronto School of Theology is one of the largest ecumenical consortia of theological schools in the world. The Toronto School of Theology is comprised of seven member colleges federated with the University of Toronto. Along with our four affiliate members, we represent eight different Christian denominations (Anglican, Baptist, Catholic, Lutheran, Mennonite, Presbyterian, Reformed, and United). The Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada accredits our consortium and each of our member schools.

Areas of Expertise

The Toronto School of Theology through its member colleges offers both basic and advanced theological degrees.

Basic degree programs include the Masters in Divinity (M.Div.), Masters in Religious Education (M.R.E.), Masters in Religion (M.Rel.), Masters in Pastoral Studies (M.P.S.), Masters in Ministry and Spirituality (M.A.M.S.), and Masters in Theological Studies (M.T.S.).

Advanced degrees include the Masters of Theology (Th.M.), Doctor of Theology (Th.D.), Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.), Doctoral (Ph.D.), and Masters of Arts (M.A.).

Incoming Students

Basic degree students at TST have access to most of the services available at the University of Toronto (e.g. Athletic Centre and Hart House, libraries, accessibility services, and other student services (e.g. Health Services, Housing Service, and Family Care Office)). Advanced degree students have access to some of the services available at the University of Toronto (e.g. libraries and accessibility services) and may make use of other U of T services by paying a student user fee.

Affiliated Institutions

TST is composed of seven member schools: Emmanuel College (United Church of Canada), Knox College (Presbyterian Church in Canada), Regis College (Roman Catholic: Jesuit), St. Augustine's Seminary (Roman Catholic: Diocesan), University of St. Michael's College (Roman Catholic: Basilian), University of Trinity College (Anglican), and Wycliffe College (Anglican). The academic resources of the seven member schools in Toronto are strengthened by an affiliation with the Institute of Christian Studies (Christian Reformed) situated on the southern edge of the University of Toronto campus, McMaster Divinity College (Baptist) in nearby Hamilton, Conrad Grebel College (Mennonite) at the University of Waterloo, and by courses offered at Waterloo Lutheran Seminary.
