Activities

What takes place in the ESL classroom is just the beginning of the learning experience at the UBC ELI. From the time we welcome a student to the UBC ELI to the time we say farewell, we offer a wide range of organized activities for students to enjoy between classes, after school and on weekends. Special activities are perfect opportunities to: * make friends with other students from around the world * learn more about Vancouver and Canadian culture * practise speaking English in social situations * explore Vancouver and other places such as Whistler and Victoria on guided trips and excursions Students are accompanied on all outings by friendly, knowledgeable UBC ELI staff (CAs). Our social activities program is just one of the special features that makes the UBC ELI an exceptional place to learn English.

Clubs

The Cultural Assistants (CAs/UBC students) offer various clubs such as Sports club, Activity Central (student newsletter), Culture Club, Volunteer Club, Cooking Club and the Memory Book Club. These clubs encourage high student involvement and are driven by student interests and skills.

Campus Tour

All students will have a campus tour at the beginning of their program lead by UBC students.
