Profile

Western College exists as the longest running Massage Therapy programs in western Canada. We offer full-time and part-time distance education versions of our Basic Relaxation Massage and Remedial Massage Therapy programs. We are located in the heart of Canada’s prairie land in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Areas of Expertise

Our programs focus on the assessment and treatment of general and specific musculoskeletal dysfunction. The depth of study is intense and the graduates out of the program are well prepared to work in a wide scope of massage therapy scenarios.

Career Planning

Graduates of this program will have the opportunity to open Remedial Massage Therapy Clinics. Graduates are also finding employment in Physiotherapy and Chiropractic Clinics. The graduates of this level will find their patients become eligible for reimbursement of treatment fees from many insurance programs. Some medical facilities are now hiring graduates of this level. Of the 2006 graduates, as of November, 95% were employed in the massage field.

Sports

Students can use the fitness facility if they are providing a training program to a client. However, wear on equipment from students’ personal use requires additional maintenance and repair. To offset this cost, the College does require a small membership fee from students wishing to access equipment.

Activities

Our student council is active and enjoys organizing many social functions throughout the school year. The College sponsors annual Christmas dances and beach parties to ensure the students receive well deserved social interaction at times where study stress can build.

Campus Tour

To arrange a tour, please call (306) 757-2242 or a request for more information can be made by e-mail info@westerncollege.ca.

Other

The student lounge has full kitchen amenities, fridges, microwave ovens, dishwasher, and of course vending machines. While snacks aren’t allowed in the classroom, the breaks afford time to munch on something.
