Profile

The School of Professional Makeup is known as 'The Industry School.' It is owned and operated by Robert Closs, a professional makeup artist who has worked on numerous television shows, including Pamela Wallin Live, The National, and the Juno Awards. Students learn in small classes and receive the highest standard of training. During their education and after graduation, students benefit from the 'industry connection' provided by the school's instructors and fieldwork programs. The School is situated in downtown Toronto, only steps from Coxwell Subway Station. Our main studio is a bright and modern space that inspires creativity for hairstyling, as well as fashion and film makeup training. The FX lab, home of prosthetics and silicone training, contains state-of-the-art equipment (a mammoth lab oven) and is professionally ventilated for resin, fibreglass, and airbrush work. In addition, the School is registered and approved by the Ministry of Education as a private career college under the Private Career Colleges Act.
