The Maritime Forest Ranger School at Fredericton, New Brunswick, was established in April 1946, as a co-operative effort of the provincial governments of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, and the wood-using industries of the two provinces. The francophone program in Bathurst was started in 1982. Present facilities at the Fredericton Campus were completed in 1986. The Ranger School was renamed The Maritime College of Forest Technology in 2003. The Maritime College of Forest Technology is located at the Hugh John Flemming Forestry Centre, 1350 Regent Street, Fredericton, New Brunswick, overlooking the valley of the Saint John River and adjoining the University of New Brunswick Forest.

On Campus Housing

The Maritime College of Forest Technology has residence space for all students, however, students who are long-term residents of Fredericton and vicinity, and those who wish to have spouses with them, may live off-campus if arrangements are made with the Executive Director before the beginning of the semester. The College does not have married students' quarters. All other students are required to live in residence in their first year. Residence is optional in the second year. Residences have a student lounge on each floor with a television. Students are members of the MFCC Gym, which is located in the central core of the Forestry Complex.

Information Technology

The lecture theatre is equipped with modern multi-media equipment. The college has a modern computer lab with leading edge hardware and software pertinent to the forest industry. The students get hands-on experience with a wide variety of forestry technical equipment.
