The Institute of Technical Trades is a registered private career college that has been training students for the metal industry since 1968.

Areas of Expertise

The Welding Department provides training in virtually all types of welding (i.e. Electric Arc, MIG, TIG, etc.) and is a certified testing centre for both the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) and the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB). The CNC Department provides training in the set up, operation, and programming of CNC mills and lathes that conform to international codes. Software training includes Cadkey, AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, and Mastercam. Of premier importance is our commitment to employment assistance. We offer services such as resume development, faxing, up to date job boards, and employer/agency referrals.

Affiliated Institutions

Institute of Technical Trades is a Charter Member of the Ontario Association of Career Colleges (OACC) and the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC). The school is required to adhere to the by laws and Code of Ethics established by the associations in regards to all aspects of private and vocational education. We are also a member in good standing with American Welding Society (AWS) and the American Society of Materials (ASM).
