Since 1985, we have trained individuals as heavy equipment operators and truck drivers to successfully pursue careers in the construction or transportation industry. Our dedication to quality, leading-edge curriculum and training programs is recognized by industry and employers. Our main campus and London-Sarnia Campus are certified by PTDI (Professional Truck Driver Institute) and both are registered as a Private Career College. We offer Heavy Equipment Operator Training programs, as well as a PTDI Certified Class AZ Truck Driver Training program and Class DZ Truck Driver program. Our PTDI Certified Class AZ program is unique as it is recognized by the insurance industry as a qualifier for insurance coverage.
We also offer a variety of combination Construction and Transportation programs. This dual qualification responds directly to employer demand of hiring multi-skilled operators to float their equipment to the job site. Our up-to-date training programs meet industry standards and government regulations. Training is done on-site, at both campuses. Both centres include full education facilities, student residences, and a variety of modern name brand equipment.
Our Instructor Certification Training is a very specialized program. Once the student completes the Heavy Equipment Operator Training and PTDI Certified Class AZ Truck Driver Training program, he/she completes their certification to be an instructor in the field. This opens the door to many employment opportunities: Instructor, Human Resources, Recruiter, Safety and Training, and Management. We also offer a train-the-trainer program.
Our Class AZ Truck Driver Training is internationally certified by PTDI and recognized by the insurance industry. We use trucks with different gear patterns, in a variety of settings, and with a variety of trailers, including loaded. Our Heavy Equipment Training includes the following pieces of equipment: excavator, backhoe-loader, bulldozer, skid steer, forklift, dump truck, and grader. Successful graduates are also issued wallet cards for completing various certificate courses, which respond directly to regulations set by the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Until December 31, 2006, multiple-occupancy rooms are available at no charge to students. For $150/month, a private room is also available. Each residence includes bed(s), bathroom, table, chairs and dresser, telephone and TV, and cooking facilities with fridge.
