Notes for Canadian Students

Education is a costly business, but there is help for those who have the desire and ability to study. The Financial Aid Office processes and approves all monetary awards, bursaries, scholarships, and loans. Students in post-secondary, upgrading, and certificate programs may be eligible to receive one form or another of the Ontario Student Assistance Program. These plans include Ontario Student Loan Plan (OSLP), Ontario Special Bursary Plan (OSBP), Ontario Work Study Plan (OWSP), Canada Student Loan Plan (CSLP), Student Emergency Loan Plan (SELP), Child Care Bursaries (CCB), Special Needs Bursaries, PT Canada Student Loans, Canada Study Grant - PT Students (CSG), OSAP, and the Lambton Scholarship and Bursary Plan.

We do not have specific internal funding for entrance bursaries. We allocate "Tuition Set Aside" funding to students on an "as needed" basis. This is usually after an interview with a student who has indicated they have financial problems. In-school bursaries are also offered using "Tuition Set Aside" funding. The student must apply for this funding through an application available in the Financial Aid office or on the College website. There are approximately 350 bursaries issued per year and the amounts can vary greatly depending on the need of the student.

We have bursaries from specific organizations that range from $500.00 to $1000.00; there is often a GPA requirement included.

Please visit the Lambton College website for additional information on financial aid.
