Requirements for Canadian Students

Applicants must meet both general and specific program requirements. Applicants following a Canadian system must meet a minimum %70 grade in English 11 or 12, plus at least 6 additional academic Grade 12 courses (recommended, not required). Requirements for International Students

English is the language of instruction at UBC. All prospective students must demonstrate English-language competency prior to admission. There are nine different ways to meet the English Language Admission Standard. General requirement: graduation from a university-preparatory program at a senior secondary school. Procedure for Canadian Students

Applications for UBC must be submitted online by December 1 for scholarship applicants, and by January 15 for all other applicants. If you are currently attending a secondary school in another Canadian province or territory, have your school send in transcripts in March or April. Procedure for International Students

The University welcomes applications from outstanding international students. Well-qualified applicants from recognized secondary schools, colleges, and universities will be considered, as well as students applying as transfer students from recognized universities and colleges. Applications from short-term visiting students from other recognized universities are also accepted. See Undergraduate Admissions to apply online.
