*Resident Care Attendant or Long Term Care Aide requirements
1.Applicants must provide the school with a copy of their high school diploma or higher to be accepted into any Gateway College program. (**Not applied to mature students)
2.Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
3.Applicants must provide proof of language proficiency.
•English 12
•or Score of :TOEFL (PBT) 530, TOEFL (CBT) 197, TOEFL (IBT) 71 or TOEIC 730
•or IELTS 5.5
•or Score of 65%* on the Entrance Exam of Gateway College
•or Equivalent
4.Negative TB Test Result
5.Acceptable Criminal Record Check Report
6.Mumps Vaccine or Proof of Blood Test
**A mature student is a student who is 19 or older and does not have a British Columbia School Diploma
*Nursing Assistant and Communication Diploma language requirements:
•Entry into Year 1: no English required
•Entry into Year 2: Score of 60% on the Entrance Exam of Gateway College
*LPN Access Program requirements:
•Completed “Application Form"
•Application Fee $120
•RCA / LTCA Diploma & Transcript
•Two Letters of Reference
•Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
•Math 12 or GW Math Assessment
•English 12 or GW English Assessment
•Photocopy of Social Insurance Number (*Not applied to International Students)
•Photocopy of Picture ID (*Passport/Driver’s License/BCID)
•Photocopy of CareCard or Health Insurance Card
•Criminal Record Check
•TB Skin Test or Chest X-Ray
•Mumps Vaccine or Proof of Blood Test
•Flu Shot (*If Practicum is from November to April)
•Work Experience (*Not Required but an Asset)
•Biology 12 (*Not Required but an Asset)
Please note that meeting the minimum requirement does not guarantee admission to Gateway College.
