Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduate/undergraduate women pursuing a career in cybersecurity. Since 2015, ESET North America has been dedicated to supporting and empowering women in their pursuit of a career in cybersecurity by providing financial assistance to help them achieve their aspirations. We have encountered remarkable and highly motivated women who harbor a deep passion for shaping the future of cybersecurity. According to the 2023 Cybersecurity Workforce Study conducted by (ISC)2, the cybersecurity field continues to be predominantly male, with women comprising only 26% of the workforce in specific age groups. While there is a noticeable uptick in the number of women entering the field, it is evident that there is still a considerable distance to cover in achieving a more balanced and inclusive cybersecurity community. To apply for the ESET Cybersecurity Scholarship, you need to meet the following criteria:
  • be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college or university in Canada
  • and aspire to have a career in the cybersecurity industry.
You also need to submit an online form with:
  • your transcript
  • letter of recommendation
  • and personal essay of 500-700 words
Before the April 5, 2024 deadline. The winners will be announced in May 2024. We appreciate the personal insights shared in your essays. To ensure fairness and impartiality, all submissions undergo a redaction process, maintaining anonymity for the grading committee. While we value your transparency, we encourage you to focus on addressing the essay question, minimizing reliance on personally identifiable information.
