Engineers' ability to convert technological advances into useful systems and devices, for the benefit of society, has impacted hugely on improving the levels of comfort, quality of life and life expectancy in modern society.
The first year of the BE is a broad education in engineering fundamentals. At the end of the first year you can choose from Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering; Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Energy Engineering or Process and Chemical Engineering. |

- Grade12 Biology or Grade12 Chemistry or Grade12 Physics
Applicants are required to have a minimum average of 70% in six acceptable Grade 12 U, U/C or M courses including Grade 12 U English, Maths, and Lab Science or Technology. The following are considered Lab Science subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physics with Chemistry (Joint) and Agricultural Science. Technology can be substituted for a Lab Science subject.
