This course gives you insights into two countries that are major players in the world economy. You'll study both languages and spend a year at a Chinese university.
Other modules cover the history, politics, society and culture of the two countries. You'll study their development and compare them. As a graduate, you'll be in a unique position, having skills in two languages spoken by millions all over the world and a working knowledge of these two great cultures. |

Applicants are required to have an average of 75% in six grade 12 U, U/C or M courses, typically including a modern foreign language. If you are not studying a modern foreign language, the department will consider other evidence of aptitude for language learning (such as a languages GCSE or, for non-native speakers of English, an English language qualification). No prior knowledge of Chinese or Russian required (up to A Level Chinese acceptable).
