This course focuses on whole-organism biology. Specialist modules cover animal behaviour, evolutionary biology, ecology, genetics, climate change and molecular biology.
You spend the second year at a major university in the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia Singapore or Hong Kong, gaining first-hand knowledge of ecosystems and organisms in your chosen region. You don't add a year to your degree to study abroad and you have reduced tuition fees during that year. Returning to Sheffield for your third year, you'll follow a programme of study that builds on your knowledge and skills with a research project and dissertation.

Applicants are required to have an average of 80% in six grade 12 U, U/C or M courses, including Biology and a science subject. Human Biology is acceptable instead of Biology. Second science from Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Maths, Statistics, Physics, Geography, Psychology, Economics or Environmental Science/Studies.
